Christian Aid
Christian Aid is a Christian organisation that insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.
It works globally for profound change that eradicates the causes of poverty, striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality, and is part of a wider movement for social justice.
It also provides urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes.

Kendal and District Debt Centre
We are a partner church with the Debt Centre and support them financially – in their own words “Poverty just loves to destroy lives. It breaks families apart, isolates people from friends and family, shatters confidence and drives many to think that suicide is the only way out.UK poverty is real, with millions locked in its miserable grip. We’re not prepared to sit back and let it wreak havoc across Kendal and District.”
Manna House
Manna House is an advice and support service for the people of South Lakes, operating from Kendal. It provides advice around housing and benefit issues, in order to prevent homelessness as well as supporting those people who do find themselves without a permanent, secure place to call home.
Springfield House
Springfield Hostel in Kendal is a safe place for women who are experiencing difficulties and are in need of a supportive environment and a stepping stone toward independent living.
It provides both accommodation and outreach services for women who are in insecure or unsafe housing or who are homeless, and are ready to make some changes in their lives. It prioritises referrals for women who have left or are about to leave an abusive relationship.
Carlisle Diocese
We are part of Carlisle Diocese, and linked to the Helm Group of parishes which includes Natland, Old Hutton, New Hutton and Crosscrake. We also seek to work closely wherever possible with other churches locally. We support the county vision of God for All.
King’s Food Bank
King’s Food Bank (KFB) is an independent community project founded by King’s Church, Kendal in 2012 in response to very real needs. Many other local churches soon joined the project.
It provides households (individuals or families) in crisis situations with 3-4 days worth of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food. Professional agencies identify households needing food boxes & refer them to KFB.
There is a box at the entrance to the church for people to leave donations of food.
Traidcraft
Need knows no borders, nor does God’s love. At KPC we believe it is our responsibility as Christians to support those in need wherever they are. Churches’ support has been critical to Traidcraft’s growth and achievements.
We support Traidcraft by using, purchasing and promoting their fairly traded goods, which makes a practical difference to the lives of disadvantaged producers and their families in the developing world.
