Bells and Bellringing
There are twelve bells in the belfry, the oldest of which has been in use since at least 1537. The most recent addition, a bell dated 1856 came from our daughter church, All Hallows, Fellside. The pub next to the church, one of the few on consecrated ground, is called the Ring O’Bells.
We always welcome bellringers to join our team. If you would like to know more, please contact Eileen Jackson on 01539 737175.
We ring on Sunday from 8.45am to 9.30am, and from 4.30pm to 6.00pm, on 4th Sundays, but please check with us first. We practise on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm.
